The current owner found this SL in Torrance Ca., where it had been stored for over 40 years. He purchased the car from an 85-year-old lady who bought the car over 50 years ago on the east coast where it was first sold. She moved to the west coast, bringing the car with her.
The restoration of this lovely car took over 5 years to complete. A Bare metal repaint to the correct color with Chrome redone to a high standard was part of this process. The Interior was replicated with Red Leather, Black Top, as per the Mercedes Build Sheet. Gauges were restored along with all the Interior Chrome.
Mechanical units were rebuilt or replaced including: Engine, Trans, Brakes, Shocks, Correct Carbs, Front End, Axles resealed, Tires, Exhaust System, etc. This is a very nice example needing nothing.
